Position Summary:

The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in achieving departmental goals by applying sound accounting principles to various transactions, performing account reconciliations and analyses, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the operational needs of the business unit. Compensation range: $50k-$65k.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and precise processing of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for all transactions and journal entries.
  • Contribute to monthly general ledger closing processes and prepare necessary journal entries.
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in the annual physical inventory or cycle counting activities.
  • Support the annual audit conducted by external accounting firms.
  • Calculate and file sales and use taxes.
  • Focus on continuous improvement initiatives aimed at minimizing waste.
  • Engage in special projects as required.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including pivot tables and lookup functions).

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience (internships may be considered).
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
