Position Summary:

The Senior Accounting Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the department's objectives by utilizing sound accounting principles to manage transactions, perform account reconciliations, and maintain accurate records. This position offers a competitive salary range of $50k-$65k and operates in a hybrid model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and precise processing of financial transactions.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation for all transactions and journal entries.
  • Engage in monthly general ledger closing processes and prepare necessary journal entries.
  • Conduct month-end reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Participate in annual physical inventory or cycle counting initiatives.
  • Assist with the annual audit conducted by external public accounting firms.
  • Calculate and file sales and use taxes.
  • Focus on continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to special projects as required.
Qualifications:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (including pivot tables and lookup functions).

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience, including internships.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous.
