Account Executive Job Description

Forthea, a leading digital marketing agency, is seeking an experienced Account Executive to drive new sales revenue in the digital marketing field. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Converting qualified prospects into new clients
  • Prospecting and qualifying new leads as needed
  • Managing databases for prospective targets, including consultants, prospects, current clients, etc.
  • Conducting needs analysis meetings with prospects, producing presentations for new business pitches, and handling additional materials
  • Preparing new business proposals and reviewing with prospects, answering questions and working with agency leadership and production departments to develop
  • Following up and closing outstanding opportunities not closed during proposal review meetings
  • Providing post-sale support to Accounts and Production teams, including making introductions, leading kickoff meetings, and handing off requirements
  • Staying abreast of current agency accounts for reference in new business presentations
  • Assisting agency leadership with research and information gathering
  • Researching and pursuing sales and networking opportunities to grow client base
  • Attending networking and marketing events, seminars, expos, and performances that present opportunities to promote the company

Requirements:

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year, accredited college
  • Minimum Experience: 2+ years account executive/sales experience (preferably with an agency)
  • Proven success in developing new business, writing client proposals, and managing complex sales cycles
  • Proven track record of penetrating and expanding large corporate accounts
  • Proven track record of exceeding quotas and goals
  • Experience in selling in a competitive environment
  • Minimum Field-of-Expertise: None required
  • Minimum Computer Experience: Some knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years direct sales experience (preferably with an agency)
  • Any advertising sales and/or professional services sales experience
  • Strong executive-level/decision-maker contacts in enterprise and mid-market companies
  • Experience with digital marketing services such as SEO, PPC, Social Media, Email Marketing, and Web Design
  • Experience using website analytics software (Omniture, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, etc.)
