Job Description

As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient patient care within our Pain Management practice. Your responsibilities will encompass preparing for patient interactions, providing direct patient care, and collaborating with various departments to deliver exceptional service.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Patient Interaction Preparation: Review charts, schedules, medical records, and other documentation. Generate necessary forms for patient education, informed consent, documentation of care, referrals, prescriptions, and other documents to support the provision of and continuity of care.
  • Information Gathering: Obtain medical records, lab results, diagnostic study results, and other relevant information as needed.
  • Clinical Environment Maintenance: Inspect the physical care environment to ensure a therapeutic, sanitary environment with fully stocked medical supplies and functional equipment.
  • Resource Coordination: Communicate with internal and external resources to procure necessary supplies and/or information.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with Scheduling, Billing, and other internal departments and personnel to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Direct Patient Care: Cultivate a nurturing atmosphere of courtesy, compassion, respect, empathy, dignity, and optimism in all interpersonal interactions. Measure, report, and record vital signs. Obtain and record patient information relevant to medical history. Verify the accuracy of recorded and reported patient information. Position, drape, and prepare patients for procedures and provider interactions. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and ancillary staff members to maintain patient flow. Administer intramuscular injections. Collect urine specimens & perform pregnancy tests as needed. Provide patient education through written and oral communication or through other means as directed by providers. Assist physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and other care providers during assessments, examinations, procedures, and other patient interactions. Report, document, and record relevant information about the patient's condition, treatment, expectations, and progress.

Requirements:

  • Must maintain current CPR certification.
  • Procedure Room Tech experience preferred.
  • Able to measure and record vital signs, manually and electronically.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required.
  • Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Pain management office experience preferred.
