Job Title: Principal Mechanical Engineer

Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead new product development within the Electronic Warfare Mechanical Design Hardware Department.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will oversee the mechanical development of various programs in Goleta, California, and will be responsible for leading programs as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL). The candidate will also serve as a liaison to programs, ensuring technical, cost, and schedule parameters are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead programs as a REA or IPTL, ensuring program success along technical, cost, and schedule parameters.
  • Oversee junior engineer's job assignments and performance.
  • Develop and implement mechanical designs for electronic warfare systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets requirements.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop effective corrective actions.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and/or ASME drawing and documentation standards and procedures.
  • Proficiency with solid modeling tools, such as Pro/Engineer/CREO.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).
  • ~8 years' experience with Mechanical Design, Development, and/or Implementation of Defense-related Electronic Systems OR 5 years with an advanced degree.
  • Experience executing root cause analysis and/or developing effective corrective actions.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and/or ASME drawing and documentation standards and procedures.
  • Proficiency with solid modeling tools, such as Pro/Engineer/CREO.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
