Job Summary

The Lead Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for providing support, assistance, and guidance to individuals with significant disabilities, enabling them to develop work skills and enhance their ability to communicate with customers in a workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including brooms, mops, and powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
  • Polish metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets and replenishes bathroom and floor supplies.
  • Assign tasks and issue supplies and equipment to employees, inspecting completed work for conformance to standards.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment from Supervisor, APM, or PM.
  • Train employees on assigned work and equipment usage.
  • Address employee and customer complaints, referring to supervisor as necessary.
  • Fulfill general cleaning staff duties as needed.
  • Operate power equipment, such as two-stage snow blowers.
  • Provide proper upkeep during inclement weather, removing snow from walkways, building entrances, and dock ramps, and spreading snow/ice melting chemicals.
  • Complete and maintain all Didlake required training.
  • Foster a positive team spirit and produce quality work.
Requirements
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • One year of recent, relevant experience in commercial custodial or maintenance services.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of general cleaning products and equipment.
  • Ability to pass and hold a security clearance background check.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense and good judgment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people with disabilities.
  • High initiative, adaptability, flexibility, and a positive team member attitude.
