Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director of Student Conduct and Community Standards. This is an exempt, at-will, full-time position that reports to the Dean of Student Support and Funding Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and interpret the student conduct process and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Serve as the college's student conduct officer and investigate alleged violations of the student code of conduct.
  • Adjudicate student conduct cases, schedule and manage student conduct meetings and hearings, and communicate student conduct process, procedures, sanctions, and conditions to students.
  • Evaluate, determine, and communicate student conduct process, procedures, sanctions, and conditions to students with a culturally responsive and inclusive framework.
  • Assist in the development, deployment, and evaluation of reporting and decision-making protocols relative to students of concern.
  • Serve as Co-Chair for the Behavioral Intervention Team known as CARE (Concern, Assistance, Resources, and Empowerment Team), and Chair the Hazing Prevention Committee.
  • Case Manage students referred to CARE using a collaborative model.
  • Serve as a member of the Compliance Committee, Housing Committee, Artificial Intelligence Workgroup, and other campus committees.
  • Coach, collaborate, and consult with faculty and staff in relation to addressing concerning behaviors related to CARE, Conduct, and Academic Integrity.
  • Process and manage cases through the Maxient software system.
  • File allegations, schedule cases, and issue disciplinary meeting and sanctions letters.
  • Ensure the maintenance, security, and accuracy of all student conduct and CARE records and documentation.
  • Generate reports on student conduct issues, including quarterly and annual conduct reports.
  • Manage the preparation and maintenance of statistical, demographic, and subject matter data related to student conduct cases and CARE reports.
  • Lead recruitment processes and train Student Conduct Committee members.
  • Develop and operate educational initiatives related to student conduct that support the mission and values of Highline College.
  • Manage the Office of Community Standards & Student Conduct Student & Activities budget.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Title IX Deputy Coordinator for student-related matters.
  • Manage Title IX training and coordination with respective stakeholders to ensure sufficient Title IX programming, prevention, and awareness.
  • Conduct training for students regarding Title IX, Student Conduct, CARE, and campus policies and procedures.
  • Administer course and maintain completion records for online Title IX and anti-hazing training.
  • Implement quarterly education awareness to students regarding Title IX.
  • Respond to complaints of sexual misconduct as defined in the campus student conduct code.
  • Provide comprehensive, timely, trauma-informed response and support services to students, staff, and faculty reporting sexual misconduct.
  • Engage in interventions that support student success through the lens of cultural responsiveness, inclusivity, and student development.
  • Conduct intake meetings with individuals reporting sexual misconduct.
  • Work with Investigators to ensure a well-documented Title IX investigative process.
  • Investigate and take steps needed for a Title IX complaint - from investigation inception through final resolution.
  • Assist with Title IX investigations and hearings.
  • Collaborate with members of the college to conduct training, prevention, and education efforts and periodic review of climate and culture.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with administering a student conduct policy, residential life operations, Title IX, academic integrity, college policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance.
