Livermore Ford Lincoln Alfa Romeo Maserati is seeking a skilled Payroll Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for compiling and maintaining accurate payroll records.
Key Responsibilities- Compile payroll data from time sheets and other records, including hours worked, sales volume, bonuses, and commissions.
- Update master payroll records by verifying and recording changes affecting net wages, such as federal and state tax exemptions, insurance coverage, and compensation increases.
- Compute wages and deductions, review for accuracy, and post to payroll records.
- Prepare and issue paychecks, as well as maintain records of leave pay and nontaxable wages.
- Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions, and file all hiring and termination paperwork, including COBRA letters.
- Maintain records for vacations and sick-day eligibility, and process employee insurance forms and payments in coordination with the office manager.
- Communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll issues and provide solutions professionally and respectfully.
- Maintain a professional appearance and neat work area.
- Two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees at all levels.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in payroll software and systems, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies.
