Job Summary

Northeast Iowa Community College seeks a qualified Automotive Education Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for teaching courses in automotive repair and maintenance, as well as advising and mentoring students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in accordance with the objectives of the course outline, as set forth by the department.
  • Meet all scheduled class and office commitments in a timely manner.
  • Assist in advising and registration, ensuring students receive accurate guidance and support.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled faculty meetings, unless excused by the Dean.
  • Keep accurate attendance records for all students, in compliance with Federal Financial Aid Guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit accurate grade reports to the Department Dean, as requested.
  • Submit reports on students who may require counseling, ensuring timely support and resources.
  • Participate in committees as appointed, contributing to the development and support of a cohesive general education program.
  • Submit purchase orders for materials needed for instructional assignments, adhering to applicable procurement regulations.
  • Maintain accurate inventories of equipment and supplies, ensuring efficient use and replacement schedules.
  • Assist in recruiting students, promoting the college's programs and services.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or AAS Degree; ASE-Master Technician or Bachelors Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of four years work experience or a combination of four years work experience and education in the automotive repair field.
  • Meet the Iowa Department of Education certification requirements and credentialing requirements via the NICC Quality Faculty Plan in the Career and Technical Education area.
