Job Goal

To fully support the mission of Northeast Iowa Community College through the functions of teaching, service and scholarship. To provide effective instruction to ensure academic programming attains student learning outcomes and prepares students for successful transition into the workforce or transfer to a post-secondary institution. To carry out assigned responsibilities to ensure academic programs are sustainable and aligned with accreditation standards. Qualifications Diploma or AAS Degree, ASE-Master Technician or Bachelors Degree preferred. Minimum of four years work experience or a combination of four years work experience and education in the automotive repair field. Must meet the Iowa Department of Education certification requirements and credentialing requirements via the NICC Quality Faculty Plan in the Career and Technical Education area in which employed. Duties and Responsibilities Teach courses in accordance with objectives of the course outline as set forth by the department in which one is assigned. Meet all scheduled class and office commitments as promptly as possible.Assist in advising and registration. Attend and participate in all scheduled faculty meetings unless excused by the Dean. Keep attendance records on all students to comply with Federal Financial Aid Guidelines. Prepare and submit accurate grade reports to the Department Dean as requested. Essential Functions Submit reports on all students who may be in need of counseling. Serve actively on any committees to which appointed. Submit purchase orders for materials needed for instructional assignments consistent with applicable procurement regulations. Keep accurate inventories of all equipment and supplies. Assist in recruiting students as needed. Assist with the development and support of a cohesive general education program within the department, campus and college district. Maintain shop equipment, current inventory, and a tool/equipment replacement schedule.
