Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer PRN to join our team at Trinity Health. As a Security Officer PRN, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security and Safety: Monitor and secure the hospital premises, respond to threats and safety concerns, and enforce all health center regulations.
  • Customer Service: Provide support to nursing and other staff in managing escalating patient/family situations, and assist patients and families with customer service needs.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Identify, report, and document safety hazards, and handle irregularities as assigned by Supervisor in a manner prescribed by hospital and department policy.
  • Investigations and Incident Reporting: Initiate investigations into incidents or activities of criminal nature, and submit appropriate information to law enforcement agencies as directed.
  • Inventory and Storage: Maintain proper inventory, pickup, transport, and storage of patient valuables and after-hour patient deposits.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Newton Police Department, Jasper County Sheriff, EMS personnel, and nursing staff and providers.
Requirements
  • Education: High school degree or GED.
  • Experience: At least one year of previous experience within security services, public safety, law enforcement, or military service.
  • Skills: Ability to read, write, and speak English, possess an ability to function well during emergency situations, and demonstrate leadership abilities in emergency/crisis situations.
  • Certifications: Valid Driver's License, proof of completion of Adult and Child Mandatory Reporter abuse training, and Certified in Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training within six (6) months of hire.
