Position Overview:

As a Surface Coatings Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to execute thorough quality assessments and performance validations on our sophisticated electrical and mechanical assemblies.

Guided by engineering schematics and detailed work instructions, you will ensure that our electro-mechanical systems not only meet but surpass the highest performance standards.

Additionally, you will be instrumental in evaluating equipment testing outcomes to provide insightful recommendations and foster design enhancements.


Travel Requirements:
Up to 20%

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive testing for mechanical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose issues in mechanical and electrical assemblies using established procedures, software, and schematics.
  • Possess a solid understanding of vacuum technology and thin film deposition techniques, components, and processes.
  • Recognize the safety precautions and limitations associated with high-powered equipment and hazardous materials.
  • Engage professionally with customers, ensuring proper installation and providing on-site training for users, technicians, engineers, and educators.
  • Create technical documentation for user manuals, internal procedures, and training materials.
  • Utilize independent judgment to develop and modify standard and custom process recipes.
  • Perform helium leak detection and conduct basic analysis using a Residual Gas Analyzer (RGA).
  • Provide final recommendations to the Production Manager.
  • Collaborate regularly with Sales, Engineering, and Research & Development teams.
  • Execute tasks in a logical, organized, and skilled manner while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Oversee and verify test and process data, performance limits, and system reports.
  • Lead, mentor, and train fellow Test Engineers and technicians.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with standard quality control tools and equipment, including software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Preferred:
  • 8 or more years of relevant experience or coursework with a Bachelor’s degree.
