Job Summary:

The Director, Lean System Consultant is a key member of the Wellstar Health System, Inc. leadership team, responsible for driving the development, implementation, and governance of the organization's Lean Program. This role requires a strong understanding of Lean principles and methodologies, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a system-wide process improvement strategy utilizing Lean resources.
  • Lead and facilitate improvement events and projects of a complex nature, including assessment, planning, event facilitation, and follow-up/sustaining outcomes.
  • Teach, mentor, and coach Lean concepts to all levels of the organization, including classroom, workshop, and project-based coaching.
  • Provide continuity and connectivity between system-level departments and initiatives.
  • Identify and facilitate cross-functional improvement opportunities to leverage resources and learnings across the system.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or Healthcare Administration or Sciences.
  • Minimum 12 years of work experience, with 7 years in healthcare.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a dedicated continuous improvement role utilizing Lean methodology.
  • Minimum 3 years in a direct management role.
  • Proven experience influencing change at the executive level, while delivering results on strategic goals.
  • Strong model of coaching and mentoring others in the concepts, methodologies, and tools of Lean.
  • Lead complex, multi-site system-wide initiatives in healthcare organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
  • Lean certification.
  • PMP certification.
