Key Responsibilities- Analyze and test specimens, including proficiency testing and manual procedures, and report results according to established protocols.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot moderately complex equipment to ensure accurate and timely test results.
- Utilize information systems to collect and interpret data, and perform quality control measures to ensure the accuracy of test results.
- Maintain a compliant environment by adhering to laboratory and hospital procedures, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to maintain high-quality test results and patient care.
- Maintain adequate inventory and conserve resources to ensure efficient laboratory operations.
- Stay up-to-date with professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and staying current with industry developments.
- Education: Associate's degree and registration as a Medical Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or equivalent.
- Licensure: Current licensure as a Clinical Lab Technician in the state of New York.
- Experience: Prior laboratory experience preferred.
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes.
- May require light lifting and carrying, including boxes and equipment.
- Repetitive use of hands, sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary.
