  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create wine pairing suggestions that enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Ensure adherence to wine service standards, maintaining quality through proper storage and handling.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff to enhance their knowledge of wine and sake, including tasting techniques and service protocols.
  • Perform regular inventory checks to manage stock levels effectively and report discrepancies as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging wine regions to continually refine the beverage offerings.
  • Uphold Zuma's service standards and participate in team meetings to stay informed about menu updates and promotions.
  • Act with integrity to uphold the company's reputation and values.
  • Fulfill additional duties as required to support the team and operations.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred certification as a Sommelier, with comprehensive knowledge of wine regions and service techniques.
  • Experience in a fine dining environment or upscale establishment as a Sommelier.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with guests in a professional manner.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a dynamic setting.
  • Team-oriented mindset, contributing positively to the work environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions in compliance with safety and health standards.
  • Capacity to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Physical agility to navigate work areas and perform various tasks efficiently.
