Job Description

At Great Lakes Petroleum, we are seeking a highly skilled HR Generalist to support the daily operations of our Human Resources department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees and management, responding to inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee personnel files and DOT Driver Qualification Files.
  • Ensure seamless communication with the HR and Safety teams regarding driver violations, expiring licenses, and DOT medical certificates and endorsements.
  • Evaluate and track employee performance, providing constructive feedback and coaching as needed.
  • Process incoming correspondence, notices, and other documents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Offer administrative support, including record-keeping, file maintenance, invoice coding, and HRIS entry.
  • Coordinate employee benefits and compensation, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and training initiatives.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement plans and activities, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Arrange travel arrangements for employees as needed.
  • Monitor, maintain, and track employee geofences, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Provide additional support to the HR department as needed.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in a Human Resources role, with a proven track record of success.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, with experience in Paylocity preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple HR disciplines, including recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Outlook and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Exhibits a positive attitude, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • This is a full-time, onsite position with a competitive salary and benefits package.
