Job Summary

Terracon is seeking a skilled Geotechnical Technician/Utility Locator to join our team. As a key member of our Geophysical and Geotechnical department, you will be responsible for performing private utility locating services and assisting with geophysical and geotechnical field activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Office Items: Collaborate with Geophysical and Geotechnical department staff to set up and initiate field exploration services, including reviewing site plans and performing private utility locating services.
  • Field Items: Conduct non-invasive utility locating and geophysical surveys from the ground surface using various geophysical technologies, define survey objectives, and provide interpretation of results.
  • Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Follow safety rules and guidelines, participate in pre-task planning, report safety issues, maintain quality standards, and perform utility locating surveys.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Assist in geophysical data collection and testing, collaborate with project managers on subsurface site conditions, and perform various field testing services.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or higher.
  • 1 year of experience required.
  • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
  • Willingness to travel.
