Geotechnical Engineering Technician

Stantec is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Geotechnical Engineering Technician to join our team in Lexington, Kentucky. As a Geotechnical Engineering Technician, you will assist with all aspects of operations associated with our Geotechnical group, including testing of soils, concrete, rock, and construction materials.

Responsibilities:
  • Test and analyze soil, concrete, rock, and construction materials to ensure compliance with specifications and regulations.
  • Interact with clients, contractors, and geotechnical engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Operate computerized and digital testing equipment to collect and analyze data.
  • Conduct construction quality assurance of installed geosynthetic materials.
  • Monitor geotechnical instrumentation and collect field data.
  • Inspect and review projects during construction to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, and codes.
  • Prepare daily reports of construction progress and provide updates to project managers and clients.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent, and student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in a related field.
  • Experience with laboratory and field construction activities is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain certifications related to the position (ACI, Troxler, NICET, etc.).
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Experience with ASTM standards is a plus.
