As a reliability engineer at SpaceX, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our missions by designing and developing high-reliability systems.
Job Description
The reliability engineer will be responsible for translating subsystem/component reliability requirements into performance metrics with testable targets. This includes building reliability prediction models to evaluate product functional performance over mission life conditions and generating mean time to failure (MTTF) predictions at subsystems and system levels. Additionally, the engineer will use physics-of-failure based approaches to develop and implement accelerated tests to mitigate risks and qualify designs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Reliability Engineering or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in design for high-reliability space systems.
- Excellent understanding of accelerated testing methods, governing equations, and physics of failure for different failure mechanisms.
