Mission-Critical Software Development Manager

Amazon is seeking a Mission-Critical Software Development Manager to join our Atlas software engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating systems and services for ingesting, processing, and visualizing vast amounts of satellite telemetry data, building real-time monitoring systems to identify anomalies, detect emerging trends, and proactively alert stakeholders to critical situations that require intervention.
You will also be responsible for ensuring extremely high reliability, uptime, and performance across systems that receive and manage telemetry streams from thousands of endpoints. The systems we build serve a fundamental role in the successful functioning of the satellite constellation, and several supporting teams depend on us to have mission-critical reliability, uptime, and performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop software systems that meet the mission criteria and requirements.
- Collaborate with your fellow team members to form a strong foundation for a software organization in Project Kuiper.
- Help on-board new team members.
- Utilize AWS and other Amazon technologies to build high-available software services.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
Estimated Salary Range: $198,100 - $329,600 per year
