About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Manager to join our Solar Team in Albany, New York. As a Sales Manager, you will be responsible for leading and coaching a team of sales professionals to drive operational logistics, optimize resource allocation, and execute key sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the sales team to drive operational logistics, including optimizing resource allocation and measuring progress against sales goals.
  • Evaluate and manage team members, resources, and processes to complete a high volume of residential and small commercial solar projects to client standards.
  • Motivate team members to achieve success and grow.
  • Review new opportunities and review with management to lead the team to profitable opportunities.
  • Lead pricing and product/project strategies with management and to the sales team to provide for profitable and growth-oriented projects and opportunities.
  • Determine customer needs and how we can deliver quality service.
  • Utilize available data to optimize customer account targeting.
  • Maintain a full understanding of all contractual obligations for all residential and commercial projects in varying areas.
  • Build and maintain tools to track Sales Leadership coaching and planning sessions with Sales team members.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure successful execution of key projects and identify opportunities for ongoing process improvements.
  • Optimize the use of technology, including our CRM and other sales enablement tools.
  • Manage and report on customer data and salesperson data, inclusive of sales history, pipeline management, and targeted prospects.
  • Maintain relationships with current and future homeowners and organizations in the community.
  • Prepare presentations to review sales metrics with Senior Leadership.
  • Oversee and report sales compensation administration and planning, inclusive of commissions structure and reconciliation.
  • Lead through and to a positive culture.
  • Assist Senior Leadership with revenue-generating projects and activities.
  • Make recommendations as changes occur in business drivers, reporting requirements, and organization structures, understanding the implications on the overall business.
  • Identify, document, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3+ years of sales and management experience, within the industry or similar preferred.
  • Experience assessing and driving transformational improvements across sales teams.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics with in-depth Excel knowledge.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Ability to smoothly handle a variety of situations and problems that may arise, sometimes several at a time, and either solve them or work with others involved to come to a cooperative solution.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
  • Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with customers, colleagues, and/or suppliers.
  • Ability to act as a flexible and innovative team player with a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and a hands-on approach.
  • Proficiency with CRMs.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments.
