Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Generator/Marine Field Service Technician to join our team at Interstate Companies Inc. As an Industrial Power Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of marine, industrial, and power generator applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair Volvo, Kohler, and MTU diesel generator engines, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections on all brands of generators.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Troubleshoot engine malfunctions and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose engine problems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities performed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers to coordinate work and provide status updates.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technology advancements, and Volvo, Kohler, and MTU product developments.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Volvo, Kohler, or MTU Generator Technician or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience working with Volvo, Kohler, and MTU diesel generator engines, preferably in marine, industrial, or power generation settings.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, software, and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
