Dental Billing Manager Job Description

Marin Community Clinics is seeking a highly skilled Dental Billing Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental billing department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of dental claims, managing accounts receivable, and supervising a team of dental billing specialists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and mentor the dental billing team, focusing on dental billing processes and coding practices.
  • Oversee the assignment of dental billing tasks, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and timely.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for dental billing staff, providing coaching on dental billing and coding practices.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely submission of dental claims to insurance payers, including Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and private dental insurers.
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable specific to dental services, including tracking unpaid claims and resolving denials.
  • Collaborate closely with the payment posting team to ensure accurate and timely posting of payments for dental treatments.
  • Conduct regular audits of dental coding to ensure compliance with the latest CDT codes and payer-specific guidelines.
  • Stay informed of changes in dental billing regulations, CDT code updates, and payer policies affecting dental claims.
  • Implement corrective actions to address any dental billing errors or compliance issues.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification in dental coding and billing preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in dental billing, with experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing dental accounts receivable and improving billing processes.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on dental billing operations.
  • Proficiency in dental practice management software and billing systems.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and act on dental billing data.
  • Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on dental terminology and practices.
