Job Overview

The National WWII Museum is actively seeking a dedicated Accounting Clerk. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role is essential for managing various financial operations and providing administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle the distribution of incoming correspondence and ensure timely processing of accounts payable checks.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily cash transactions, including cash receipts and credit card sales in the general ledger.
  • Facilitate check deposits through remote capture technology.
  • Provide backup support for credit card transaction coding and reporting.
  • Assist with accounts payable functions and related administrative tasks.
  • Support the accounting team with bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks related to budgeting, annual audits, tax returns, and special audits.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED with 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping and basic accounting within a dynamic accounting environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to new tasks and challenges.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated initiative, organizational skills, sound judgment, and capacity to manage a high volume of transactions.
