Fixed Asset Accounting Specialist

This role is focused on ensuring the accuracy and integrity of fixed asset records, including additions, retirements, and book depreciation. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting practices and fixed asset accounting, as well as knowledge of Microsoft Excel and pivot tables.
Main Responsibilities:
- Precision in preparing monthly depreciation and amortization entries
- Validating Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) to confirm capital expenditure projects
- Maintaining accurate fixed asset records, including assets' life cycles
- Collaboration in budget preparation and periodic forecasts, focusing on projected depreciation and O&M expenses
- Supporting AFUDC calculations and adjustments
- Assisting in FERC's annual and quarterly form filings
- Monitoring and reviewing Construction in Process (CIP) and working closely with field personnel
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a related field with strong Principles of Accounting I & II background
- Entry-level work experience and relevant skills in accounting practices and fixed asset accounting
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with PowerPlant or similar fixed asset systems
Compensation details: $52,372 - $75,557 yearly Salary
