Position Overview:

Marathon Petroleum Company LP is seeking applications for a Terminal Operator role at our facility in Tampa, FL. This role involves working with various petroleum products and overseeing all operational functions of a petroleum terminal. The Terminal Operator is essential in enhancing life’s possibilities by blending, distributing, and delivering high-quality products safely and efficiently.

This position is assigned to a primary location but may require coverage at additional sites based on business needs. Work schedules may vary, including 4- or 5-day workweeks or shift work as necessary. The role may involve call-outs and overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Continuous training will be provided to enhance job-related skills. A successful candidate will demonstrate collaboration, reliability, motivation, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on truck loading equipment and other facility machinery.
  • Conduct sampling and laboratory analysis of petroleum products.
  • Gauge storage tanks and support the shipment and receipt of products via pipeline and/or barge/ship.
  • Engage in physical activities such as stair climbing and lifting, often in outdoor settings.
  • Prepare and submit terminal operational reports.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Willingness to learn basic computer skills.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and maintain accurate records.
  • Capability to understand mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Possession of a valid Driver's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or vocational training in a relevant field.
  • Prior experience in process operations, maintenance, or the petroleum industry.
