Notes:

  • Onsite position.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive clerical and administrative assistance to the department.
  • Independently manage standard and complex office tasks while coordinating with other medical offices, providers, and families.
  • Serve as the primary liaison among hospital staff, vendors, management, and administration.
  • Prepare and organize Clinic Charts.
  • Review and process incoming referrals through various systems.
  • Welcome families, address inquiries, and guide them to appropriate hospital areas.
  • Collect and verify accurate patient demographic information.
  • Schedule patient appointments following departmental guidelines.
  • Confirm insurance eligibility.
  • Maintain awareness of contracted payers and other revenue sources.
  • Register patients for appointments using the designated system.
  • Handle patient billing in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Process payments following established procedures.
  • Assist families in completing necessary forms.
  • Obtain and issue authorizations and referrals for various medical services.
  • Support the phone queue as needed.
  • Maintain and manage schedules effectively.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and skill enhancement.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and conferences as required.
  • Coordinate interpreter services when necessary.
  • Exhibit the ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage interruptions.
  • Adhere to established departmental policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical office or hospital setting.
  • Proficient in personal computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Typing speed of at least 55 words per minute.
  • Ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Flexibility in staffing and conflict resolution; strong team player.
  • Effective organizational skills for prioritizing tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills through collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle conflicts proactively while providing excellent customer service.
