We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staffing and Patient Flow Coordinator to join our team at the University of Maryland St. Joseph Medical Center. This role is responsible for managing daily staffing activities, arranging new hire orientation, and ensuring adequate staffing levels across various nursing units.
Key Responsibilities- Allocate staff fairly according to acuity and need on each nursing unit, ensuring consistent staffing levels and following up with PCC/charge nurse or designee when necessary.
- Maintain accurate staffing reports, telephone lists of agencies and staff, and data in systems such as sick calls and scheduling changes.
- Develop, post, and manage schedules for assigned units based on ADC and budgeted staffing ratios, maintaining accurate employee information and communicating with Nurse Managers.
- Manage daily staffing needs, assign float pool resources and agency staff, and deploy staff fairly to various units based on expressed need and availability.
- Observe and monitor admissions to determine bed assignment needs, working closely with Nurse Supervisors to assign beds to patients and facilitate patient flow.
- 2-year Associate's Degree required; 3 years' experience in staffing/scheduling in a healthcare environment accepted in lieu of degree.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical and organization skills, basic computer skills, and strong customer service.
