Job Overview

The Quality Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring that materials and products meet established standards of quality. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of our manufacturing processes and upholding the reputation of Luminator Technology Group.

Reports To: Quality Manager
Grade/Level: Hourly
Travel Requirement: Minimal (Less than 5%)
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday
Supervisory Responsibilities: None

POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Inspector is tasked with identifying and rejecting materials that do not conform to specifications. This role involves marking items with relevant details such as grade or acceptance/rejection status and measuring product dimensions to ensure compliance with established standards using tools like calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct technical validation of manufacturing documentation to ensure compliance with departmental standards.
  • Analyze time, motion, methods, or speed related to maintenance, production, or operational activities to improve efficiency.
  • Review logs and specifications to ensure adherence to quality assurance metrics.
  • Monitor equipment performance to verify compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Report production issues to the quality manager or relevant personnel.
  • Inspect and test materials and products for conformity to specifications.
  • Evaluate information from various sources to identify potential problems.
  • Investigate equipment, structures, or materials to determine the cause of defects.
  • Document nonconforming products and follow procedures accordingly.
  • Measure completed products to verify compliance with specifications.
  • Notify relevant parties of equipment maintenance needs.
  • Record operational or production data accurately.
  • Perform inspections of processes and quality methods with expertise.
  • Participate in training and cross-training of new inspectors as needed.
  • Assist in test setups and documentation.
  • Fulfill additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree or higher is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years in quality assurance is required.
Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Access. Familiarity with AutoCAD and other software is advantageous.

  • Production and Processing: Understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality control techniques.
  • Customer Service: Knowledge of customer needs assessment and quality standards.
  • Mathematics: Proficiency in arithmetic, algebra, and statistics.
  • Mechanical: Familiarity with machines and tools, including their maintenance and repair.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Must pass initial and random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must pass vision examinations as required.

  • Keying/typing, sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Constant mental and visual attention is required.
  • Work is typically performed in comfortable conditions.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards is expected.
  • Noise levels are generally quiet in office settings.
