Job Title: Medical Support Services Team Lead

Join Connecticut Children's, the only health system in Connecticut dedicated to children, as a Medical Support Services Team Lead. This role is part of the Supply Chain organization, responsible for overseeing the Equipment Depot Department, a centralized hub for all medical equipment, including respiratory items.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the verification of inbound and outbound medical equipment, ensuring adherence to inventory protocols.
  • Lead replenishment and expiration date checks of respiratory and code cart supplies.
  • Document code cart exchange processes via KitCheck system prior to deployment, guiding team members.
  • Coordinate and schedule routine and preventative equipment maintenance with the BioMed team, offering mentorship as needed.
  • Conduct quality control checks, preventative care, and cleaning of medical equipment, with a focus on training, development, and ensuring team competencies were completed while onboarding new team members.
  • Assemble, calibrate, perform first-line troubleshooting, and perform quality assurance testing of respiratory equipment to verify proper functioning and ensure patient safety.
  • Assist the team in transporting patients to various hospital locations for medical procedures, maintaining a high standard of patient care and safety.
  • Monitor facility-fit system for transport requests, delegate tasks, and ensure timely completion.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma, GED, or a higher level of education is required. An Associate's degree is strongly preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience within a healthcare-specific environment is highly desired or equivalent demonstrated knowledge and capability.
  • Effective time management and punctuality are critical to the success of this role.
  • Previous experience in a hospital setting is favorable.
  • Excellent emotional intelligence and communication skills are required.
  • Good physical fitness is necessary.
  • Pediatric Essential 1.0 is required.

  • Good judgment and decision-making skills are essential.
  • Situational analysis and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Specific technical knowledge, including proficiency in the use of computers and associated software programs, is necessary.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
