About Us: The Northeast Independent Living Program (NILP) is a dynamic human services organization dedicated to empowering individuals with various disabilities to lead independent lives within their communities across Northeast Massachusetts. Our core services include Advocacy, Peer Counseling, Information and Referral, Independent Living Skills Training, and Transition. At NILP, we firmly believe in consumer control and self-direction, recognizing that individuals with disabilities are the best judges of their own needs and aspirations.
Position Summary: Under the guidance of the PCA Manager, the PCA Scheduling Coordinator plays a crucial role in organizing consumer evaluations and re-evaluations. This role also entails providing administrative and data entry support to facilitate the daily operations of the clinical team. We are looking for candidates who are genuinely passionate about assisting others and are committed to the philosophy of Independent Living.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule initial evaluations and re-evaluations for consumers with nursing staff.
- Perform data entry into management systems and Excel.
- Collaborate with PCA and clinical personnel to process consumer documentation.
- Monitor the progress of evaluations.
- Send faxes to Home Health Agencies (HHAs) when a 485 form is required and follow up with these agencies.
- Fax necessary paperwork to medical offices for the authorization of PCA services.
- Make follow-up calls to medical offices to ensure authorization has been received.
- Serve as a resource for information for both staff and consumers.
- Complete other assigned tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of administrative experience.
- Familiarity with Independent Living philosophy and prior experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Access to reliable transportation is essential.
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and database management.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize work.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
