Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Program Director to lead our Family Medicine Residency program at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the residency program, ensuring its alignment with the department's strategic goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive residency program that meets the accreditation standards of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
  • Recruit, select, and manage a diverse group of residents, ensuring a strong and supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to design and deliver high-quality educational programs, including didactics, small group sessions, and clinical rotations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the program's performance, making data-driven decisions to improve resident education and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including department chairs, hospital administrators, and community partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in family medicine education, incorporating best practices and innovative approaches into the program.
Requirements
  • Board certification in Family Medicine.
  • At least 5 years of experience in family medicine practice and education.
  • Proven track record of leadership and management in a residency program or similar setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform program decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in rural or underserved settings.
  • Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements.
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
  • Strong teaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate residents.
