We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Program Director to lead our Family Medicine Residency program at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the residency program, ensuring its alignment with the department's strategic goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive residency program that meets the accreditation standards of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
- Recruit, select, and manage a diverse group of residents, ensuring a strong and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with faculty members to design and deliver high-quality educational programs, including didactics, small group sessions, and clinical rotations.
- Monitor and evaluate the program's performance, making data-driven decisions to improve resident education and patient care.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, hospitals, and healthcare organizations to ensure a strong network of clinical sites and educational opportunities.
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental and institutional policies, ensuring alignment with the Commonwealth of Virginia's mission and values.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the residency program's administrative staff, ensuring efficient and effective program operations.
- Board certification in Family Medicine or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in a residency program leadership role, with a strong track record of success in program development and implementation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with residents, faculty, and staff at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform program decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Experience in a rural or underserved setting, with a strong commitment to addressing health disparities and improving health outcomes.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards and requirements, with experience in program accreditation and reaccreditation processes.
- Experience in curriculum development and implementation, with a strong understanding of adult learning principles and educational theory.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in supervising and mentoring staff and residents.
