SUMMARY: As a vital part of a prominent global aerospace distributor, the Quality Assurance Inspector I is tasked with ensuring that products meet company standards. This role involves conducting visual inspections, identifying, and documenting product discrepancies, and segregating non-conforming items. The inspector also supports quality initiatives and strives to achieve quality objectives.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Addressing issues with manufacturers regarding missing or unclear certification documents, shortages, or other discrepancies with parts and documentation.
  • Collaborating with internal departments (Sales, Quality, Purchasing) to resolve certification document issues and part discrepancies.
  • Coordinating with customers on the Return Material Authorizations (RMA) process.
  • Assisting with internal rejections and the Return to Vendor (RTV) process.
  • Communicating with vendors to gather necessary information (RMA, Certifications, Shipping methods).
  • Reviewing documentation for traceability, ensuring accuracy of part numbers, lot numbers, and test requirements before entering into the system.
  • Maintaining certification files and digital records.
  • Completing the on-hold process, including managing events in the system and escalating issues to the appropriate departments.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Includes education, experience, and competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 1-2 years of relevant technical work experience or equivalent skills.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, self-motivated, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and scheduling applications.
  • Fluency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Includes preferred education, experience, and competencies:

  • Associate degree.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Familiarity with Quantum Component Control or other ERP systems.
  • Previous experience in aerospace inspection or audits.
  • Knowledge of QA inspection methodologies.
  • Understanding of ISO/ASA audit processes.

  • The selected candidate will undergo a background check and drug testing.
