Job Overview

The Phelps Residence Inn is seeking a talented Food and Beverage Manager to oversee our Phelps Bar & Kitchen and two-tiered rooftop bar. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the food and beverage department, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Managing and training a team of food and beverage staff, including interviewing, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Handling department issues in a professional manner, coaching and counseling associates as needed.
  • Attending meetings, developing strategies to maximize revenue and minimize costs, and maintaining high standards of food quality and customer service.
  • Collaborating with the chef, bar manager, and AGM to create policies and procedures and ensure timely delivery of food orders, door dash orders, and room service.
  • Monitoring inventory levels and placing orders for supplies as needed.
  • Handling customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback in a professional manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Staying updated on industry trends and implementing best practices.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in hotel or hospitality industry in a food service management role.
  • Ability to effectively manage shifts and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems for order processing and cash handling.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Experience conducting interviews, training, and managing staff members.
  • Familiarity with door dash systems is a bonus.
