About the Job:

A position at the Renaissance Hotel - Cincinnati, where you will be responsible for managing the entire restaurant staff to ensure the high-quality execution of large receptions and events involving food service. You will serve as a liaison between the FOH service staff and the kitchen staff, and assist in management operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate Food Service: Work with cooking staff and floor staff to ensure quality food service.
  • Prepare Decorative Arrangements: Slice, garnish, and prepare decorative arrangements for events.
  • Enforce Regulations: Enforce all employer rules and food service regulations, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Review Seating Diagrams: Review seating diagrams for acceptability and accuracy.
  • Delegate Duties: Delegate duties to team members for each event.
  • Validate IDs and Monitor Beverage Consumption: Help validate customers' IDs and monitor all beverage consumption to address severe intoxication.
  • Resolve Guest Concerns: Resolve guests' concerns, inquiries, and complaints.
  • Maintain Reports and Bills: Maintain detailed reports for management and develop an accurate bill for service.
  • Enforce Culture and Refinement: Enforce an atmosphere of culture and refinement.
  • Monitor Food Service: Monitor food service to limit food wastage or contamination.
  • Manage Transfers and Stock: Manage transfers and stock inventory.
  • Manage Food Materials and Inventory: Manage food materials, inventory, and all operating materials.
  • Inspect Uniforms: Inspect the uniforms of all floor staff prior to the event to ensure propriety.
  • Adhere to Hygiene and Grooming Standards: Adhere to and enforce standards for hygiene and grooming.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the banquet floor, the kitchen, and the storage areas.
  • Work as a Bartender or Server: Work as a bartender or server, when necessary.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Friendliness and Communication: Demonstrate friendliness, courtesy, and respect, especially when serving others.
  • Effective Communication: Have the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in print.
  • Food Preparation and Service Knowledge: Possess extensive knowledge of food preparation and service.
  • Physical Stamina: Have the stamina to handle heavy objects, prolonged periods of standing, and other moderately strenuous activities.
  • Problem-Solving and Task Delegation: Demonstrate the ability to solve problems and delegate tasks.
