Engagement and Wellness Coordinator

Overview of Responsibilities

The Engagement and Wellness Coordinator is tasked with the organization, planning, facilitation, and oversight of the comprehensive operations within the Engagement and Wellness Department. This role is executed in alignment with existing standards, guidelines, regulations, and company policies, as directed by the Executive Director. The aim is to ensure a continuous program of wellness activities is tailored to meet the assessed interests and the holistic well-being—physical, mental, and emotional—of each resident. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for creating wellness initiatives for families to address their identified needs and for conducting staff training sessions.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Recruiting, assessing, coordinating, and supervising department personnel in accordance with company policies.
  • Providing recommendations to the Executive Director regarding staff evaluations, merit increases, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

Qualifications Required:

Experience Requirements
  • For facilities licensed for fifty (50) or more individuals: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in leading group activities, along with expertise in assessing residents' needs, supervising staff, and training volunteers. Note: These criteria may be waived if an exception is granted by the licensing authority.
  • If located in California: For facilities licensed for sixteen (16) to forty-nine (49) individuals: At least six (6) months of experience in organizing planned activities or enrollment in a relevant educational or training program is required. For facilities licensed for fifty (50) or more individuals: A minimum of one (1) year of experience in leading group activities, with knowledge in assessing residents' needs, supervising staff, and training volunteers. Note: These criteria may be waived if an exception is granted by the licensing authority based on a satisfactory alternative plan.
Educational Background
  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience
