Your Role

We are looking for a seasoned Vice President to spearhead the Controls Monitoring and Testing initiative for Marcus US Deposits within the Asset Wealth Management Division. This position is integral to the first line of defense Business Controls team, responsible for overseeing a team that evaluates, designs, and implements control monitoring and testing for critical controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute a strategic plan for implementing controls monitoring and testing for essential controls.
  • Evaluate regulatory and operational risks alongside associated controls to identify effective monitoring and testing strategies for preemptively addressing control failures.
  • Ensure timely execution of controls monitoring and testing as per established schedules.
  • Analyze outputs from control monitoring and testing to identify patterns of control failures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review testing results and determine root causes.
  • Lead the aggregation, analysis, and reporting of results for senior stakeholders and risk committees.
  • Work with other Controls functions to inform the design of processes and controls based on testing outcomes.
  • Engage with second- and third-line functions as necessary to inform compliance and audit examinations.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Innovate testing strategies and tools to enhance efficiency in testing, analysis, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to foster a culture of risk awareness and regulatory compliance.
  • Contribute to Risk Governance initiatives by providing expertise and thought leadership.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in Operational Risk, Compliance, Controls, or Audit functions within the financial services sector.
  • Proven expertise in leading and implementing controls monitoring and testing functions.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a track record of managing and motivating teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective engagement with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and navigate complex organizational structures.
  • Exceptional analytical and decision-making abilities.
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are advantageous.
