We are seeking a skilled Technical Support Engineer to join Peraton's Citizens Security & Public Services division. This position involves providing essential IT support and will require working during overnight hours.

Daily Duties Include:

  • Installing and connecting conduits, cables, trays, racks, and electronic hardware systems.
  • Testing and connecting audio/visual, computer server, network, and telecommunications equipment for both new installations and renovations.
  • Executing installations, upgrades, and removals of products while ensuring alignment with engineering modifications.
  • Assembling, installing, and configuring systems and equipment based on site evaluations and technical schematics.
  • Conducting system programming and optimization as part of the installation process.
  • Completing final commissioning and integrated acceptance testing of electrical systems and related equipment.
  • Ensuring that commissioning and final acceptance of critical path equipment comply with client specifications and relevant industry standards.
  • Performing routine system maintenance and analysis, including hardware configurations and equipment component management.
  • Providing on-site training for end-users on system operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Traveling frequently to customer locations to fulfill job responsibilities.
  • Instructing and delegating tasks to staff to provide technical support across various departments during product development and implementation.
  • Assigning testing and verification tasks to ensure hardware meets established specifications and requirements.
  • Overseeing the construction, testing, and modification of product prototypes, utilizing both practical and theoretical models.
  • Assessing user needs and recommending appropriate hardware solutions.
  • Directing technicians, engineering designers, or technical support personnel as needed.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams to evaluate the interface between hardware and software, ensuring operational and performance standards are met.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder (No Sponsorship available).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential.
  • Solid understanding of circuit boards, processors, electronic equipment, and computer hardware/software.
  • Familiarity with various software applications, including configuration management, desktop communications, operating systems, and internet directory services.
  • Experience in diverse installation tasks, including running conduits, installing hardware systems, and connecting/testing various equipment.
  • Proven track record in product installation, upgrades, and removals while adhering to engineering modifications.
  • Ability to assemble, install, and configure systems based on site assessments.
  • Skilled in system programming, optimization, and final commissioning/testing.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and ensuring equipment meets client specifications.
  • Proficient in routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and end-user training.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Ability to assign technical support tasks and oversee testing and verification processes.
  • Capable of analyzing user needs and recommending suitable hardware solutions.
  • Experienced in directing technical personnel and collaborating with engineering teams.

Salary Range$39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
