Job Summary/Overview

This position involves the assembly of various components necessary for the construction of hoists. The role may require adherence to technical drawings and other specified instructions, whether verbal or written. The assembly tasks may be performed in either an electric or manual capacity within the assembly division as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts all tasks in compliance with the safety and environmental regulations of the organization.
  • Develops assembly strategies based on provided specifications.
  • Utilizes tools to remove small amounts of material for cleaning or achieving precise fits between components.
  • Performs drilling, tapping, or reaming of holes as necessary.
  • Aligns and secures components using bolts, screws, or rivets.
  • Installs dynamic parts, such as shafts, levers, or bearings, and tests for smooth operation.
  • Aligns and meshes gears within gearboxes to construct a functional gear system.
  • Sub-assemblies may include, but are not limited to, transmissions, braking systems, panel plates, and final assemblies.
  • Works from technical drawings, production illustrations, process documentation, and established assembly methods.
  • Participates in rotating assignments across various areas of the classification regularly.
  • Assists in training other team members in job responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.
  • Performs additional tasks to ensure optimal productivity within the facility as required, along with other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using various units of measure.
  • Ability to apply logical reasoning to execute detailed written or verbal instructions and to address issues involving a limited number of concrete variables in standardized scenarios.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers; occasional sitting is required. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds regularly and frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The physical demands described are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Previous experience and/or training in a related field is advantageous.
  • Capability to safely lift, lower, push, or pull up to 40 lbs.
