Job Summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Business Operations Department, you will be responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the daily financial operations of a major Center.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for process and data management, including operating budget variances, revenue cycle KPIs, cost center KPIs, contract administration, signature authority, capital purchasing, and supervision of project and business operations staff.
  • Identify and drive internal business operations improvement projects that enable efficiency, productivity, and knowledge sharing across the clinical enterprise.
  • Collaborate with finance, revenue cycle, procurement, accounting, and clinical operations to increase data quality, communication, and coordination.
  • Provide content expertise to department colleagues in the areas of SHC business operations, finance, procurement, and accounting.
  • Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders in these SHC support functions.
  • Support operational budget submission and monitoring.
  • Serve as a primary resource for data reporting, data analysis, and data interpretation for clinical operations.
  • Design and prepare operational reports for an audience of senior management, physician constituencies, and other hospital executives.
  • Research and analyze data from internal and external sources.
  • Identify opportunities, design, and administer sustaining solutions for process improvement projects.
  • Coach and mentor department staff through change processes and cycles of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven (7) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
  • Knowledge of financial systems, including operations, budgeting, and analysis, statistics, and forecasting and modeling.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal, and personnel management.
  • Knowledge of financial and operational management information systems.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements related to the functional area.
  • Knowledge of Lean or other Quality and Process Improvement techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to develop and administer departmental budgets.
  • Ability to develop, write, analyze, and present business plans, proposals, contracts, and financial analysis reports.
  • Ability to use sophisticated conceptual, numerical, analytical, and statistical skills to solve complex, unique financial problems.
  • Ability to provide leadership and influence others.
  • Ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.
  • Ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues.
  • Ability to plan, organize, motivate, mentor, direct, and evaluate the work of others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels, including flawless written communication.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, project management, analytical, interpersonal, negotiation, and collaboration skills.
