The Financial Credit Specialist plays a crucial role in the daily processing of customer sales invoices, managing deductions documentation, and assisting the Credit team in all facets of customer interactions and activities.

This position may require the employee to work additional hours as necessary. Overtime will be determined based on individual job responsibilities and departmental needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Accurate data entry of cash receipts, ACH, and manual deposits into the current Accounts Receivable system.
  • Adjust invoices to reflect discrepancies in discount amounts.
  • Generate debits on customer accounts for deductions or short payments, assigning the appropriate reason code to each debit.
  • Verify and reconcile daily cash receipts.
  • Process customer invoices on a daily basis.
  • Create new customer Bill To/Ship To records in QAD and maintain existing customer business relations profiles.
  • Upload customer documents in Exceedra for use in resolving deductions.
  • Manage the Deductions inbox on a daily basis.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by the Credit Manager.
  • Provide backup for other departmental functions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: To excel in this role, an individual must be capable of performing each specific duty satisfactorily with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • At least one year of experience in a business office environment is required.
  • Experience in accounting is preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is necessary.

  • Ability to enter data accurately with minimal errors.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively and professionally across various functional groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, approachable demeanor, and flexibility. Must be able to work collaboratively and proactively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Resourceful and innovative problem solver.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities, capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Must be a self-starter and independent thinker with the ability to respond quickly to situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and/or projects simultaneously with minimal assistance in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Experience with an ERP system is a plus.
