About the Role
The Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer is a critical leadership position within Wintrust Financial, responsible for overseeing the credit risk management function across the organization. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of credit risk management principles and practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement credit risk management strategies to ensure the organization's credit portfolio remains healthy and aligned with business objectives.
- Lead a team of credit risk professionals in evaluating and managing credit risk across various business lines, including commercial lending, consumer lending, and other financial products.
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement credit risk policies, procedures, and guidelines that support the organization's overall risk management framework.
- Monitor and analyze credit risk metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and develop recommendations to mitigate potential risks.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, regulatory requirements, and best practices in credit risk management to ensure the organization remains compliant and competitive.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in credit risk management, with a strong background in credit analysis, risk assessment, and portfolio management.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective credit risk management strategies that drive business results.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of credit risk professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable recommendations.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to credit risk management, including Basel III and other relevant regulations.
