About the Position

This is a Military Technician position with the US Army, Reserve Personnel Action Center. The role may offer a $10,000 recruitment bonus to newly appointed civilians. To be eligible, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below.

Responsibilities
  • Research complex pay actions and prepare a wide variety of military personnel actions.
  • Maintain military personnel files to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Research and analyze data to identify trends and report the results to management.
  • Provide technical advice on establishment and maintenance of military pay accounts ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance on administrative and military personnel matters.
  • Assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures to ensure uniform interpretation and application.
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience in preparing military personnel actions, researching or analyzing pay issues, reviewing incoming regulations, ensuring compliance with rules and regulations, and advising on pay and personnel processes.
  • Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
  • A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
Additional Information
  • This position offers a $10,000 recruitment bonus to individuals who are newly appointed as civilians in the Federal Government.
  • You are considered newly appointed if this is your first appointment as a civilian employee in the Federal Government or if you have a minimum of a 90-day break in service from a previous Federal civilian position.
  • New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses to their first official duty station.
  • Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
  • Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
