The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Security Specialist to lead our agency-wide physical and personnel security activities.
Key Responsibilities- Directs the agency-wide physical and personnel security activities, ensuring the safety and security of CDC employees and facilities.
- Develops and implements strategies and procedures for personnel security and physical security, aligning with CDC's mission and objectives.
- Coordinates and oversees work through subordinate supervisors, providing guidance and support to ensure effective security operations.
- Reviews and evaluates proposed regulations, policies, and procedures related to physical and personnel security, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities, including hiring, training, and evaluating security personnel.
- At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level, including experience developing and implementing nation-wide physical security programs and laboratory security programs.
- Experience directing, coordinating, and overseeing work, as well as developing strategies and procedures for personnel security and physical security.
- Education: A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
This position has been designated as telework eligible and may include remote work or telework options, and/or flexible work scheduling. The Federal government is a drug-free workplace and may require a drug test and be subject to random drug testing.
