American International Group (AIG) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our Structured Credit & Project Finance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in analyzing and evaluating project finance and structured credit opportunities, recommending and approving transactions that fit within our risk appetite.

With a strong background in credit underwriting and a proven track record in managing credit approval processes, you will work closely with our PRG teams in Europe and Asia to drive business growth and develop new products. Your expertise will be essential in establishing and strengthening relationships with financial institution clients, distribution partners, and reinsurers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and evaluate project finance and structured credit opportunities to recommend and approve transactions that fit within our risk appetite.
  • Work closely with PRG teams in Europe and Asia to drive business growth and develop new products.
  • Establish and strengthen relationships with financial institution clients, distribution partners, and reinsurers.
  • Negotiate insurance policy wordings with brokers and financial institutions and review facility documentation.
  • Prepare in-depth internal credit risk assessments and other related transaction materials in support of underwriting requests and recommendations.
  • Monitor a diversified portfolio of project finance and structured credit exposures to ensure compliance with internal policies and prepare regular updates and reporting for management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Finance or a related field.
  • Relevant industry accreditations such as FRM, CFA, or ACII are an added benefit.
  • 5+ years of credit underwriting or banking experience in credit/syndication/origination or a loan-focused product role, with a track record in managing credit approval processes and negotiation/execution of loan and insurance documentation.
