Job Overview

The Construction Equipment Specialist is tasked with the operation of various heavy machinery in a secure and effective manner.

This role primarily involves working with hydraulic excavators and rubber-tired loaders, but may also encompass the operation of haul trucks, water trucks, telehandler forklifts, skid steers, as well as screening, crushing, and material conveying systems, street sweepers, and other heavy machinery.

The Construction Equipment Specialist is also responsible for cleaning, inspecting, and securing all machinery, along with performing minor preventative and maintenance tasks on the equipment.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Operate all machinery safely and efficiently, adhering to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, along with company policies and procedures.

2. Provide guidance and act as a spotter for vehicles entering and exiting the operational area.

3. Conduct and document daily safety and maintenance inspections.

4. Execute minor preventative and maintenance tasks.

5. Maintain a clean operational area, ensuring that both the workspace and equipment are free from clutter, spills, and residues. It is essential to keep the work area organized at the end of each shift.

6. Cross-train and support operational staff as required.

7. Participate in pre-shift and post-shift safety and operational briefings.

8. Undertake other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
