About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our Behavioral Health team at SAC Health. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of empowering patients and their families to live vibrant and healthy lives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Evidence-Based Care: Provide psychosocial assessments and interventions in the provision of traditional psychotherapy, utilizing evidence-based practices to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Health and Wellness Consultant: Participate as a Health and Wellness Consultant, providing clinical services as part of the Behavioral Health Integrated Care team for patients in the medical clinics who present with chronic health challenges, mental health symptoms, or who may be at risk for mental health-related issues.
  • Culturally Sensitive Care: Provide culturally sensitive psychoeducation to ensure fair and equal care to all clients in the development of appropriate service plans and referral and linkages to internal and external resources based on individual/family needs.
  • Group Facilitation: May facilitate as a group leader for one of the health education groups provided within the Health, Behavior, and Wellness Center (HBWC).
  • Collaboration and Communication: Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings, including the monthly HWC meeting, monthly HBWC clinical staff meetings, monthly Provider meetings, and SACHS General Staff Meetings, in-services, staff development, and participates in educational courses, workshops, and conferences.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide behavioral health-related crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Professional Development: Demonstrate professional development on the job, staying current with the field through journals, articles, and pertinent clinical and professional literature.
  • Compliance and Ethics: Comply with all policies, procedures, and represent the values of the agency, adhering to the NASW Code of Ethics and the American Psychological Association Code of Ethics.
Requirements
  • Education: Doctoral degree (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program, and completion of an APA-accredited internship are required.
  • Licensure/Certification: A psychologist license issued by the California Board of Psychology is required, along with a valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Experience: 2+ years of clinical experience are required, with outpatient clinical experience and multidisciplinary experience within the medical field being preferred.
  • Technical/Motor Skills: The ability to use a computer on a daily basis to complete required documentation, as well as the ability to skillfully use Electronic Health Records.
  • Interpersonal Skills: The ability to communicate positively and effectively with all staff in a multidisciplinary environment, as well as the ability to conduct meetings and present in a public forum.
  • Mental Abilities: The ability to speak and hear on the telephone and in person, visually identify patients and staff, and distinguish colors, sounds, and written documents necessary to the position.
