Position Overview
The Department of State Hospitals is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Psychologist within a clinical setting focused on safety and mental health. This role operates under the guidance of the Program Assistant while adhering to the clinical oversight of the Chief Psychologist and Senior Psychologist Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize psychological expertise to address mental and developmental disabilities across various age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults.
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing specialized treatment interventions and crisis management.
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, including the administration and interpretation of psychological tests.
- Perform forensic evaluations as necessary, including risk and competency assessments.
- Document all psychological services provided, ensuring accurate and timely progress notes and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during treatment meetings and patient care discussions.
- Engage with external agencies as required and serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings when necessary.
Additional Requirements
- Successful completion of a drug screening prior to employment.
- Background investigation clearance and medical clearance are mandatory before hiring.
