Job Overview

The Senior Systems Engineer within the Enterprise Technical Services Team plays a crucial role in managing the IT infrastructure architecture for The Christ Hospital, focusing on datacenter operations, server management, and server virtualization. This position involves the development, implementation, and oversight of policies and procedures governing all Compute services. The Senior Systems Engineer is tasked with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of these essential resources.

Key Responsibilities

- Conducts technical analysis, design, and support for the virtual environment to ensure seamless daily operations, system upgrades, and new releases.

- Troubleshoots infrastructure and application issues escalated from technical support teams and application analysts.

- Collaborates with analysts and IT engineers to research, develop, document, test, and deploy new technologies, service updates, and upgrades across the organization.

- Maintains comprehensive documentation on system configurations and technical components.

- Coordinates with technology and application teams to communicate systems infrastructure changes and issues effectively.

- Assists in the development of processes and procedures for supporting enterprise applications across regions.

- Engages in enterprise change management processes to ensure smooth transitions and updates.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.

- At least eight years of experience in systems integration, data center management, Windows servers, and server virtualization.

Certifications:

  • Proficiency and/or certification in server operating systems (MS Windows)
  • Proficiency and/or certification in virtualization technologies (VMWare)
  • Knowledge of network topologies and implementations (TCP/IP, DNS)
  • Familiarity with Windows-based print queues, file shares, and Active Directory administration
  • Expertise in infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Strong foundation in the design, analysis, and evaluation of IT systems
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to lead complex interdisciplinary projects
  • Understanding of the impact of infrastructure on organizational operations and interdependencies of complex systems
  • Ability to articulate and communicate solutions, impacts, and risks to management effectively

Additional Requirements:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Effective priority and task management abilities

Licenses & Certifications:

- Microsoft and VMware Industry Certifications such as MCP/MCSE, CCA, VCP, or equivalent are required.
